Who We Are
PurifierBeast is an independent review site for air purifiers. We do not accept free products from manufacturers. We do not let brands influence our rankings. We do not run paid placements disguised as editorial recommendations.
We earn a small commission when you buy products through our Amazon links. This commission does not affect which products we recommend or how we rank them. We recommend products we would buy with our own money. If a $100 purifier outperforms a $500 one — and it often does — we say so.
Our goal is simple: help you buy the right air purifier for your specific situation without overspending. The air purifier market is full of inflated claims, fake HEPA labels and marketing that prioritizes brand premium over actual performance. We cut through that.
How We Research
Every recommendation on PurifierBeast starts with data, not opinion.
- AHAM Database Verification. We cross-reference every CADR claim against the official AHAM Verified CADR Database. If a purifier is not listed, we note that clearly. CADR without AHAM verification is a manufacturer claim — not an independently tested fact.
- HEPA Grade Checking. We verify whether filters meet True HEPA standards (H13: 99.97% capture at 0.3 microns). We call out "HEPA-type" and "HEPA-like" marketing that misleads buyers into thinking they are getting genuine HEPA filtration.
- Certification Verification. We check CARB certification (ozone safety), Energy Star status (energy efficiency) and other regulatory credentials against official databases — not manufacturer claims.
- Customer Review Analysis. We read hundreds of customer reviews per product on Amazon and other retailers. We look for patterns: recurring noise complaints, filter seal problems, performance degradation, customer service issues. We weight long-term reviews (6+ months) more heavily than initial impressions.
- 5-Year Cost Modeling. We calculate the true cost of ownership: purchase price plus filter replacement costs over five years. This reveals which purifiers are genuinely affordable long-term and which brands hide costs behind cheap upfront pricing.

Our Testing Standard
Every product recommendation on PurifierBeast meets these minimum criteria:
- AHAM-verified CADR where available (we note when it is not)
- HEPA grade H11 minimum, H13 preferred
- CARB certified for ozone safety
- Filter replacement cost calculated over 5 years
- Minimum 100 customer reviews analyzed for reliability patterns
- Honest assessment of limitations — every product has them
We do not give perfect scores. We do not use phrases like "best ever" or "must buy." We present data, give our honest opinion and let you decide. If a product has problems, we tell you what they are and who should avoid it.
Editorial Independence
We link to products on Amazon through affiliate links. When you buy through these links, we earn a commission — typically 4% of the purchase price. An air purifier sale earns us roughly $4-8. This is how we fund the site.
This commission does not influence our recommendations. We have recommended products with lower commissions over products with higher commissions when the lower-commission product is better. We publish negative assessments of products that would earn us money if we promoted them. We call out brands — by name — when they mislead consumers about HEPA grades or CADR performance.
We update pages when prices change, models are discontinued or new information emerges. A recommendation from 2025 that no longer holds in 2026 gets revised. We do not leave outdated content up because it still earns affiliate revenue.

We do not cover commercial or industrial air purification systems, HVAC installations or air quality monitoring equipment beyond what air purifiers provide.
